There are communities within our parish area which have identified needs that we are able to meet.
Three of those communities are the Glen Cairn Community Resource Centre, London Community Chaplaincy, and CC Carrothers Public School.
Wherever possible, we will share with you some experiences our volunteers have had as we update this page.

Outreach Ministries - Update
A $1240.00 donation has been sent to PWRDF in support of Ukrainians forced to flee their homes due to the Russian invasion. As additional funds are designated by parishioners through their offerings to go to this cause, they will be continually directed to PWRDF. As was stated in a recent e-mail regarding Anglicans Supporting Ukrainian Refugees, donations can be made to PWRDF by
phone 1-866-308-7973 or mailing a cheque to PWRDF, 80 Hayden St., 3rd floor,
Toronto, Ontario, M4Y 3G2.
Camp Huron is looking forward to being fully available to campers this year! One camper’s registration from our parish has been supported thus far with $1000.00 from the HTSSM bursary established a year ago. Please let Rev. Rob know if you are aware of a young person who would like to pursue this camping experience.
The Glen Cairn Bread Program continues to be supported by weekly bread donations (left on Sunday at the church) and designated offerings. From the later, bread is purchased and taken to the community centre for distribution.
Food and container donations placed in the basket at the back of the church have regularly been taken to and gratefully received by St. Paul’s Social Services Food Bank. Presently canned fruit, vegetables, fish and meat, soups, bags of pasta and spaghetti sauce are needed. As children often accompany their parents when coming to the food bank, donations of spring toys i.e.,
chalk, skipping ropes, paddle board and ball sets would be appreciated.
Thank you so much for your continuing contributions to the ministries supported by HTSSM!

DECEMBER 2021
Salvation Army Christmas Hamper Program
Pat Edgerton is working with the 0-2years children’s bags again this year, and her team has completed over 900 bags. However, they still have about 500 more to do, with very little left on the tables. The need this year is significantly greater than last year. If anyone would like to make a direct cash donation, but without getting a tax receipt, she would be happy to go out and purchase needed items. If a tax receipt is desired, Pat can still accept cheques, which will be turned into the SA on Monday. Thank you from Pat!
2021 MITTEN TREE!!
Just a friendly reminder regarding the Mitten Tree: It will have all the beautiful donations removed on Saturday, December 18th and divided up between the three recipients. It will then be decorated for the rest of the Christmas season until the end of "Old Christmas", I will have an update on how many hats, mitts etc. after everything has been divided up. Blessings, Sharron.

Happy Holidays from the London Community Chaplaincy!
Merry Christmas and Happy New year from all of us at the Chaplaincy! Because of your support, we have been present in the heart of the community consistently throughout 2021. Specifically in December, we have worked hard to bring JOY into the complexes by offering Santa Parades, craft nights, cake walks and breakfast parties for parents, Kids Christmas stores, as well as Christmas Hampers for over 350 households. We have also been present in the heartache that is often hidden in our city- offering a listening ear, community referral as well practical resources to make what can be a difficult season for some a little brighter. Your volunteer hours, practical gifts, financial donations, words of encouragement and prayers have made this all possible. As 2021 ends, may the best gifts of the season, gifts of Hope, Peace, Joy and Love be yours in abundance.
Blessings to you and those you love, Rev. Pam Cullen

Poem in memory of the Afzaal family
Here is a poem written by Saraann Weston in memory of the Afzaal family that tragically lost their lives on Sunday, June 6th in our city of London, ON. This poem has been sent to the London Muslim Mosque in support of Fayez Afzaal, the surviving 9 year boy.
There is a support in life
There is a support when you are down.
A shoulder when you need to cry
A motivation when you need to try.
A smile when you are feeling so low
A happiness when you want to grow.
A friend is a part of your heart
A family is truly apart of your life-time.
A community when we need it most
A natural way to have peace in love.
Outreach Update – More Good News
In the interest of knowing the ripple effect of HTSSM's outreach, I would like to share the following! The lunches that are cooked at St. Paul's Fellowship Centre are not only distributed to folks accessing the food bank but on Tuesday 50 lunches are delivered to the Northwest London Resource Centre (Sherwood Forest Mall) and on Wednesday 200 are delivered to the Family Centre Westminster (Osgoode Dr.). This is what is happening presently, with additional ideas developing for the summer.

Dear Friends of PWRDF,
On behalf of the Board, staff and partners of The Primate’s World Relief and Development Fund (PWRDF), I would like to extend our thanks for your recent generous donation of $1,405.00 from your church.
Your gift supports the work of PWRDF and its partners in preventive health, mother and child wellness, food security and nutrition, clean water and sanitation, Indigenous language and cultural reclamation, economic empowerment, and emergency humanitarian relief both here at home in Canada and in more than thirty countries around the world. For over 60 years, PWRDF has worked to improve the lives of marginalized people around the world through development programs and relief efforts. We could not achieve these results and helped so many vulnerable men, women and children without the generous support of our caring donors like you.
Thank you again for your support for the work of PWRDF and our vision of creating a truly just, healthy, and peaceful world.
With blessings and gratitude,
Will Postma

The following card was received from St. Paul’s Social Services and Heather asked for it to be shared:
To the Leadership and Parish of Holy Trinity St. Stephen's Memorial,
When we look out for each other, we can change lives. Your generous support in these truly difficult times, has helped us to provide fresh eggs, milk powder and produce to many families and individuals.
These staples add a greater level of nutrition to our food hampers and make a real difference to Londoners living with food insecurity!
Thank you for the work that you do in our Lord's name!

OUTREACH UPDATE
March 2021
Cheques were recently delivered to St. Paul's Social Services ($1035.00) and London Community Chaplaincy ($1050.00) from HTSSM. These totals represent funds taken from Outreach Reserved and Designated Offerings. The Glen Cairn Bread Program is receiving funds on an as needed basis usually from Designated Offerings. LTC tickets were purchased to be distributed by and according to Rev. Rob's discretion. The following thank you from St. Paul's Social Services is reprinted from a handwritten note.
Heather Gough and Bill Yeomans, Outreach Contacts.
January 2021
Many programs have struggled to maintain their existence during this pandemic. The Bread Program (Glen Cairn Community Resource Centre) and food bank at St. Paul’s Cathedral have however continued to function. Appropriate changes in compliance with health regulations needed to be put into place at both of these locations resulting in clientele being serviced outside and staff bringing food items to them. Donations dropped off at the church were/are being delivered to St. Paul’s and GCCRC. The snack program at C.C. Carrothers P.S. was put on hold mid March-June and resumed activity in September, expecting once again to start up when the schools re-open. Food donations can be left at the church once on-site worship is allowed. Alternately designated monetary donations for St. Paul’s food bank and the bread program continue to be accepted. Thank you for your contributions and caring.
Sincerely, Heather Gough and Bill Yeomans

Being the Church in a Time of Crisis
“Dear Friends: Even though our church building remains closed for worship and for gathering during the Covid-19 crisis we still have to find ways to be the hands of Jesus in the world. There is much need in our communities especially for the most vulnerable of our neighbours. Please follow the link below for the latest newsletter from Rev. Pam Cullen at the Southdale Chaplaincy. I encourage you to read it, especially the section titled "Serve". For those who have the means, this is a wonderful way ‘to be the church’ in our neighbourhood. Please find more information at their website: https://londoncommunitychaplaincy.com
~Then they also will answer, “Lord, when was it that we saw you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not take care of you?” Then he will answer them, “Truly I tell you, just as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.” Matthew 25 ~
