Veterans Memorial Garden
A place of quiet beauty in memory of our Veterans
As part of the celebration of 60 years of ministry at St. Stephens Memorial, we established the Veterans Memorial Garden.  St. Stephens was founded by veterans of World War 2, who called this area home under the Veterans Land Settlement.  It was important to us on this historic milestone that we honour those who gave birth to this community.
The Veterans Memorial Garden is located on the south side of the church property, nestled next to the Church Sanctuary.  The center piece is a large stone engraved with a red poppy and the words, "Veterans Memorial Garden." In a circle around the stone are a variety of plants and flowers, and in the surrounding area you will fine benches and stones given in memory of veterans.  It is an oasis of peace in the midst of a busy community.
